We are looking for an R&D Development Engineer to develop and improve the design of MAGUS, and to guide the translation of that design into specifications our production partners can build to.

Job Description

As R&D Development Engineer, you take the system architecture and technical requirements defined by System Engineering and turn them into a working, buildable design. Since production itself is outsourced, a key part of this role is translating your design into clear, buildable specifications, and working directly with our production partners to make sure quality, feasibility, and delivery timelines are met.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Develop and continuously improve the design of MAGUS based on system architecture and technical requirements.
• Resolve technical issues identified through testing, field data, or production feedback.
• Iterate on designs to improve performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

Production Partner Coordination

• Translate designs into clear, buildable specifications for our outsourced production partners.
• Review first-article builds and resolve non-conformances that require design-level judgment.
• Monitor quality and delivery timelines together with our production partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, RF, or Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience taking a design from concept to a buildable, production-ready state.
• Comfortable working directly with external manufacturing or production partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Preferred: experience with RF or electronic hardware development; experience working with outsourced or contract manufacturing; experience in defense or aerospace.

Employment Type

This role starts with a one-year contract, with the intention to extend.

• A gross annual salary between €51.876 and €74.125, depending on experience (full-time basis, 40 hours).
